Job summary

The Jewish Museum of Maryland in Baltimore seeks an Exhibits Manager to support the organization as it continues to build a robust exhibition schedule after capital updates and expansion of gallery spaces completed in 2025. Reporting to the Deputy Director, you will work cross‑departmentally to support exhibition development and execution.

You will project-manage gallery-based projects, coordinate budgets and schedules, manage contracts and vendors, and guide exhibit graphics and loan processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; or 3+ years in a similar role.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of Jewish communal sector is a plus.
  • Experience in cultural heritage is a plus.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Evening or Sunday hours may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Project-manage development for gallery-based projects, including team development, schedules, meeting coordination, budgets, articulating project goals and strategy briefs, and general administrative tasks.
  • Manage RFP and MOU processes for contracts with curators, designers, multimedia professionals, contractors, consultants, and vendors.
  • Support installation and maintenance of galleries and prep between exhibits and maintenance throughout runs.
  • Provide support for internal and external exhibit curators.
  • Guide development, production, and installation of exhibit graphic elements.
  • Lead the asset procurement process including image, film, and audio.
  • Assist in loan processes, working with institutions and private individuals.
  • Manage project-specific budgets, track expenses, and provide budgetary reporting.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of survey instruments and other evaluation modalities for exhibit-based projects.
  • Supervise the Exhibits Coordinator.

Skills

Bachelor's degree
