Job summary

Sotheby’s in New York is seeking Exhibition Staff to be the first point of contact for visitors across front of house spaces. You will relay exhibition information, register bidders, and ensure exceptional service at all times.

The ideal candidate will excel in client service within luxury environments, be comfortable working weekends/evenings, and coordinate with multiple departments to meet client needs. This is a front-facing, customer-experience role in a world-class gallery setting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Brand Ambassador and provide hospitable client experience.
• Support front of house galleries, including Lobby Desk, Coat Check and Exhibition Floors.
• Direct visitor flow by managing check-in, queues and elevator access.
• Assist clients with inquiries using knowledge of calendars, events, departments and staff.
• Coordinate with Specialist and Non-Specialist departments to meet client needs.
• Maintain exhibition and sale-related activities, including client accounts and bid registrations.
• Demonstrate understanding of the auction process to clients.
• Participate in ad hoc projects.
• Adhere to front of house attire during shifts.
