Job summary

Winthrop University’s Department of Physical Education, Sport, and Human Performance seeks a tenure-track assistant professor to coordinate internships and field experiences and teach in the Exercise Science program. The role includes supervising internship placements, advising students, and collaborating with community partners.

The candidate will contribute to curriculum development, support accreditation processes, and engage in teaching evenings, online, and weekends as needed, while

Qualifications

• Doctorate in exercise science or closely related field with specialization.
• CSCS credential and ability to provide exercise science/strength services.
• Experience in collegiate teaching and program development.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Internship and Field Experience Coordinator for the Exercise Science program.
• Maintain comprehensive records of student internships and field experiences.
• Teach courses in exercise science, strength and conditioning, health at undergrad/grad levels.
• Support curriculum development and accreditation activities.
• Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
