As an Exercise Physiologist, you will support our Cardiology Department by providing exercise opportunities, developing exercise prescriptions, and overseeing exercise progression for patients with cardiovascular disease. The team values passionate caregivers eager to learn, grow, and care for patients. Flexibility to work in other departments, such as pulmonary rehab, is also preferred.

Work Schedule: Days, 6:30am—3:00pm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct patient testing before and after rehabilitation, including assessments of strength, body composition, flexibility, balance, and endurance.
• Create exercise prescriptions based on test data, patient status, and medication regimens.
• Update exercise plans according to patient responses.
• Implement cardiac secondary prevention concepts.
• Recognize contraindications and abnormal responses to exercise.
• Respond appropriately to all situations, including exercise cessation and referrals.
• Provide education and information to patients, peers, and the community through public speaking and classes.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in an exercise-related field.
• Certified Basic Life Support (BLS) healthcare provider certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in an exercise-related field.
• One to two years of experience with cardiac stress testing.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand/walk for long periods and assist patients with standing and walking.
• Some lifting, bending, and twisting to assist limited patients.
• Adaptability to different room temperatures during exercise.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Use of PPE as required, following standard precautions.
