Job summary

Wharton-Smith, Inc. seeks a Vice President of Field Operations to lead field execution across multiple Business Units in Central Florida.

You will partner with executive leadership to shape staffing, safety, and productivity while safeguarding profitability and client satisfaction. Ideal candidates bring 20+ years in construction with senior leadership experience, a strong safety record, and a proven ability to manage diverse projects and regions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
20+ years progressive construction experience with large-scale projects.
10+ years in senior field leadership roles (Director/General Superintendent).
Proven ability to lead multiple projects and coordinate field teams across regions.

Responsibilities

Provide executive leadership and strategic oversight for all field operations.
Coach and mentor field leadership; collaborate with senior directors and operations.
Forecast labor, equipment and scheduling needs across multiple projects.
Ensure safety, quality, and compliance across all job sites.
Monitor financials, PCA, labor metrics, and schedule performance.
Support preconstruction, site logistics, and constructability input.
