Job summary

Airswift seeks a VP of Engineering to lead capital project execution and provide engineering oversight across its operations. You will own the full lifecycle of projects from scoping and design through construction, commissioning, and handoffs, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective plant performance.

The role partners with Operations to align engineering decisions with strategic priorities, including major capital investments and facility certification milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or related).
• 15+ years of progressive engineering leadership experience.
• Experience delivering capital projects from concept through startup in process manufacturing.
• Experience in chemicals, energy, industrial gases, pharma, or related continuous-process industries.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital project management across the full lifecycle: scope, design, procure, construct, commission, startup.
• Develop and manage budgets, schedules, and risk registers; provide progress updates to executives.
• Lead FEED studies, feasibility analyses, and concept development for new facilities and expansions.
• Partner with Operations to ensure engineering solutions support safe, reliable plant performance.
• Manage relationships with EPC contractors, equipment vendors, and third-party engineers.
• Support regulatory compliance, facility qualification, and certification efforts with engineering deliverables.

Job description

Our client is seeking a VP of Engineering to lead capital project execution and provide engineering oversight across its operations.

This role owns the full lifecycle of capital projects, from scoping and design through construction, commissioning, and operational handoffs, while partnering closely with Operations to ensure engineering decisions translate into safe, reliable, and cost-effective plant performance.

The VP of Engineering will be a key leader supporting the company’s strategic priorities, including major capital investment initiatives, facility validation, and certification milestones.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead capital project management across the full project lifecycle, including scope development, budgeting, engineering design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up.
• Develop and manage capital project budgets, schedules, and risk registers; provide regular progress updates and variance reporting to executive leadership.
• Lead Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) studies, feasibility assessments, and concept development for new facilities, expansions, and strategic capital investments.
• Partner with Operations leadership to ensure engineering solutions support safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance.
• Manage relationships with EPC contractors, equipment vendors, and third-party engineering service providers.
• Support regulatory compliance, facility qualification, and certification efforts through the development of engineering deliverables and technical documentation.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or related discipline); advanced degree preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
• 15+ years of progressive engineering leadership experience, including significant responsibility for capital project execution and delivery.
• Proven track record managing capital projects from concept development and FEED through construction, commissioning, and start-up in an industrial or process manufacturing environment.
• Experience within process manufacturing industries such as chemicals, specialty chemicals, energy, industrial gases, advanced materials, food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, or other continuous-process operations.
