Job summary

Chubb External is seeking an Underwriter to manage new and renewal monoline property business in Michigan, with support across the Midwest. The role entails underwriting execution, sales and marketing activities, and building internal/external relationships.

Responsibilities

• Establish relationships with key trading partners and drive submission activity across assigned Agents & Brokers.
• Be responsible for profit, growth and retention of assigned book.
• Meet or exceed new business production goals while maintaining profitability and adhering to authority and strategies.
• Coordinate with Underwriter Associate to retain renewals and lead Loss Control & Claims Service plans for service level accounts.
• Maintain and develop relationships with the branch, brokers and clients.
• Develop and execute a prospect pipeline with trading partners and cross-sell with other business units.

Job description

This position will handle new & renewal monoline property business for our Michigan territory, along with supporting other branches in the Midwest Region based on business need. The Underwriter would be accountable for new business production and execution of underwriting strategies.Sales and marketing activities are expected for the building andmaintaining of internal/external relationships. We are looking for a candidate who is highly motivated, results oriented with solid business and underwriting acumen. This position will collaborate within a team of other underwriters, operations, claims, marketing, and home officemanagement as necessary.

This position will report to theCommercial InsuranceManager in our Troy, MI office.

Responsibilities:

• Establish relationships with key trading partners and drive submission activity across assigned Agents & Brokers in our desired industry segments.
• Be responsible for profit, growth and retention of assigned book
• Meet or exceed new business production goals while maintaining profitability across assigned portfolio and adhering to authority and strategies.
• In conjunction with the Underwriter Associate, retain key assigned renewals and lead coordination of Loss Control & Claims Service plans for service level accounts.
• Maintain and develop relationships with the branch, our brokers and clients.
• Develop, advance & execute against a prospect pipeline with our trading partners, as well as engaging other business units for cross-selling opportunities.
