Job summary

RiverTech, an Akima company, is looking for a seasoned technical writer to support the Office of the Chief of Staff for CISA in a hybrid role based near Arlington, VA. You will manage executive tasks, draft memo and briefing packages, and develop templates to streamline workflow.

A Secret clearance and strong MS Office proficiency are required. You will coordinate with program managers and staff to ensure accurate, timely submissions and maintain audit logs of edits and actions.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in a relevant field; MA/MS preferred.
• 5–6 years of technical writing and editing experience on policy directives and SOPs.
• Experience with CISA House Style Guide and Writing Style Guide preferred.
• Experience writing communications for executive senior leadership.
• Advanced skills with MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook, and Power BI.
• Active Secret Clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical writing support to CISA OCoS.
• Manage executive tasks, inquiries, and programmatic items in official task systems.
• Log, assign, track, and monitor items to ensure timely submissions.
• Act as gatekeeper for incoming/outgoing packages with required components.
• Determine routing of incoming correspondence based on priorities.
• Coordinate with program managers to resolve writing discrepancies before sign-off.
• Draft and finalize executive correspondence packages (memos, letters, briefs).
• Develop templates and desk guides outlining task-tracking workflows.
• Prepare weekly audit logs documenting edits and actions.
• Ensure accuracy and responsiveness in all deliverables.
