Job summary

The Bahia Resort Hotel in San Diego seeks an Executive Steward to manage and supervise the stewarding department, training staff and ensuring top sanitation in kitchens and related areas. This hands-on leadership role requires directing personnel and coordinating with other departments to uphold hotel standards.

Qualifications

• Progressive stewarding leadership experience required.
• Experience in high-volume hotel or resort environments preferred.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays.
• Must obtain San Diego County Food Handler certification on hire.

Responsibilities

• Convey a positive, professional image to guests and staff.
• Coordinate all stewarding department activities and schedules.
• Maintain highest cleanliness and sanitation standards per Health Dept and hotel.
• Assist in operating and capital budgeting and forecasts.
• Set up training programs to meet department standards.
• Instruct staff in safety and emergency procedures.
• Act as hands-on manager and mentor staff.
• Liaise with other departments to ensure quality of service.
• Requisition and control cleaning supplies within budget.
• Inventory chinaware, glassware, and flatware; minimize breakage.
• Coordinate food distribution for events and transport to Evans Garage.
• Ensure regular attendance and cover multiple facilities.
