Job summary

Carver Road Hospitality's Carversteak NY is seeking an Executive Sous Chef to lead BOH operations, ensuring safety, quality, recipe accuracy, and financial profitability while supporting the Corporate Chef.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years as a Sous Chef in a high-volume restaurant, strong sanitation and knife skills, and cross-functional leadership; Spanish language skills and strong P&L insight are a plus.

Qualifications

• Has at least 5 years previous experience as a Sous Chef in a medium/high volume restaurant.
• Sanitation knowledge, culinary knowledge, and demonstrated knife skills and safe food handling.
• Current Massachusetts Food Handler Card.

Responsibilities

• Oversees kitchen operations to ensure safety, quality, recipe accuracy and profitability.
• Schedules, trains, and develops BOH staff; covers the kitchen when Corporate Chef is away.
• Manages payroll, inventory and purchasing systems.
• Interviews and conducts trainings; performance reviews for kitchen staff.
• Coaches and develops heart-of-house employees; enforces BOH standards and SOPs.
• Maintains equipment safety and compliance with health regulations.
• Ensures safety standards and company policies are followed.
