Job summary

Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants is hiring an Executive Sous Chef at Saranello's in Wheeling, IL. This role requires 4+ years of executive sous-chef experience in a full-service setting, with strong leadership, cost control, and kitchen-operations skills.

You will oversee mid- and closing shifts, manage inventory and labor costs, and coordinate with the GM on hiring and training BOH staff. Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits accompany this position.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Executive Sous Chef experience in a full-service restaurant.
• Ability to lead and manage the kitchen staff.
• Experience with inventory, ordering and controlling food and labor costs.
• Willing to work a variety of days and shifts, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all mid- and closing kitchen duties and contribute to inventory, ordering and controlling food and labor costs.
• Run BOH shifts and ensure effective and efficient BOH operations including food prep and cooking; supervise kitchen, dish and all other BOH teams.
• Lead BOH pre-shift meetings and participate in line, temp and cooler checks and tastings for the shift.
• Purchase and order food products and supplies for the restaurant including daily product order.
• Ensure communication of food production and timing between FOH and BOH.
• Partner with GM to interview, hire, onboard, train, and develop BOH employees.
• Model and promote teamwork across all teams.
• Move and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
