Job Description:

We are seeking a professional Executive Sous Chef to be the second in command in our kitchen, following our Executive Chef’s specifications and guidelines. The successful candidate will employ their culinary and managerial skills to maintain and enhance customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely kitchen operations that meet quality standards
  • Assist the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation
  • Resolve issues resourcefully and manage problematic situations
  • Manage and train kitchen staff, establish schedules, and assess performance
  • Order supplies and manage inventory
  • Enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain professionalism with coworkers and customers

Requirements and Skills:

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef
  • Understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
  • Proven kitchen and staff management skills
  • Ability to handle emergency situations accurately and swiftly
  • Knowledge of industry best practices
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, restaurant management software (e.g., R365), POS systems

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED preferred
  • Proven experience as a line chef, restaurant cook, or prep cook
  • Excellent understanding of cooking methods and procedures
  • Accuracy and speed in task execution
  • Professionalism and teamwork in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Punctuality

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds regularly
  • Stand for ten hours or more daily

Other Requirements:

  • Asian culinary background preferred
  • Spanish speaking skills preferred
  • Food Safety Manager Certificate required
  • Candidates must have Sous Chef experience and be legally authorized to work in the USA

Position Type and Hours:

Flexible schedule based on business needs; daytime/evening shifts, with weekend and holiday availability required.
