The 1,054-room Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport is the newest luxury hotel in Boston and the most significant hotel project in the city in the last forty years. Job Description

The Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport is located in the vibrant Seaport District. This AAA Four Diamond rated hotel offers 1,054 well-appointed guestrooms, including 52 suites, with diverse amenities such as dining experiences, a rooftop pool, Breve Spa, and extensive meeting space. Role Overview

The Executive Sous Chef is responsible for the efficient operation of the kitchen and food outlets, ensuring quality and cost control.

Responsibilities
  • Implement and uphold hotel policies and standards, ensuring service quality within budget.
  • Assist in budgeting, monitor costs, and report variances with recommendations.
  • Advise the Executive Chef on kitchen operations and maintain high cleanliness standards.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction through smooth daily operations.
  • Control purchasing and receiving standards, working with the storeroom and F&B teams.
  • Evaluate product quality, yield, wastage, and market prices.
  • Inspect food service during operations to maintain standards.
  • Manage equipment and schedule maintenance.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years of culinary management experience in a high-volume, full-service hotel or restaurant, including supervisory roles.
  • Proven culinary skills with leadership, development, and motivation capabilities.
  • Union experience preferred.
  • Ability to teach staff customer interaction and internal/external guest service.
  • Creative with knowledge of current food trends.
  • Basic math skills; able to interpret financial reports.
  • Consistently maintain health standards and safety policies.
  • Excellent communication skills; capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with computers; experience with payroll and scheduling.
  • Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • College degree or culinary certification preferred; Serve Safe certified.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and stand for extended periods, and handle culinary tools and sensory tasks.
