Placements24 is seeking a skilled Buyer for Automotive Components to source and procure a wide range of automotive parts and materials. This remote role supports South Africa, leveraging expertise to manage supplier relationships and ensure on-time delivery of high-quality components.

Ideal candidates have at least 4 years in procurement, strong negotiation skills, and familiarity with automotive supply chains.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years in Buyer or Procurement roles, automotive components preferred.
• Proven sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management track record.
• Strong understanding of automotive supply chain and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure automotive components, raw materials, and supplies in accordance with specifications and quality standards.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop relationships with key suppliers globally and locally.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings and ensure supply chain reliability.
• Manage supplier performance, conduct regular reviews, and address any quality or delivery issues.
• Monitor market trends, commodity prices, and new technologies impacting automotive components.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to ensure component specifications are met.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, process purchase orders, and track shipments.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function.
