Job summary

GlaxoSmithKline is seeking a Clinical Development Lead for Oncology GU to define the clinical strategy, scientific narrative, and decision framework across the asset lifecycle. You will collaborate with the Medicine Development Team to position Clinical Development at the centre of product strategy and governance, with operational study delivery led by Senior Scientists.

The role requires leading governance and investment discussions, engaging with Health Authorities, and mentoring CDL talent.

Qualifications

• MD/PhD/PharmD or equivalent advanced degree required (MD strongly preferred).
• Experience in oncology clinical development is essential.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks (GCP, ICH, FDA, EMA, NICE).

Responsibilities

• Define the asset-level clinical strategy and scientific narrative across the lifecycle.
• Lead governance and investment discussions with senior management for portfolio prioritisation.
• Act as the default Clinical Development representative for Health Authority interactions and regulatory meetings.
• Mentor and develop clinical development talent within the asset programme.
