Belmont University is seeking an Executive Officer - Captain to lead Campus Security. This role oversees operations, planning, and safety initiatives across shifts, ensuring a secure campus aligned with Belmont’s mission and values.
The Captain will serve as incident commander, manage training and budgeting, and supervise subordinate officers while coordinating with executive leadership. A robust security background and Tennessee certification are required.

The Office of Campus Security is staffed by more than 40 officers with backgrounds in law enforcement, military service and higher education. Every officer holds state certification and maintains active training in CPR and first aid. We operate under the Office of the EVP for External Engagement & University Counsel. Our team patrols campus, responds to emergencies and works alongside students, faculty and staff to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for everyone who calls Belmont home.

Bachelor degree required. School of Police and Command or analogous course. Certified Field Training Officer (FTO). Certified instructor meeting POST Standards in Field. Prefer Instructor certification in use of force topics and Instructor certification in Crisis Intervention or related field.
