Job summary

Belmont University is seeking an Executive Officer - Captain to lead Campus Security. This role oversees operations, planning, and safety initiatives across shifts, ensuring a secure campus aligned with Belmont’s mission and values.

The Captain will serve as incident commander, manage training and budgeting, and supervise subordinate officers while coordinating with executive leadership. A robust security background and Tennessee certification are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree required in a relevant field and state certification in security.
• Must possess a Tennessee Driver’s License and be able to operate computer equipment.
• Armed security officer certification in Tennessee required or obtainable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for incident reporting and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of security operations and personnel across shifts.
• Develop and implement plans to meet department mission and goals.
• Create a secure, Christ-centered campus environment.
• Ensure security operations align with university needs and values.
• Serve as incident commander and coordinate with responders.
• Oversee training schedules, budgeting, and fleet maintenance.
• Manage Quartermaster duties for uniforms and equipment.
