Job summary

Placements24 seeks a seasoned Metallurgical Process Superintendent to lead our beneficiation plant in Upington, Northern Cape. You will drive production, safety, and continuous improvement while coordinating a multidisciplinary team of metallurgists, engineers, and operators.

The role requires deep expertise in comminution, flotation, and related mineral processes, with a track record of delivering cost-effective performance and enhanced metal recovery in a demanding mining environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Master's degree is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily operations of the beneficiation plant, including production, maintenance, and technical support.
• Drive initiatives to optimize plant throughput, recovery, and grade, while minimizing operating costs.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to achieve production targets and business objectives.
• Manage a team of metallurgists, engineers, and plant operators, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Oversee metallurgical accounting and reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Implement and champion continuous improvement programs (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
• Collaborate with maintenance and engineering departments to ensure plant reliability and efficiency.
• Manage the plant budget and control expenditures effectively.
• Stay abreast of technological advancements in mineral processing and advocate for their adoption where beneficial.
