Job summary

The Louisiana Department of Public Safety (DPS) is seeking an Executive Management Officer to provide executive-level support to the Principal Assistant of DPS and the Commissioner of the Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV). This role coordinates priorities, prepares briefing materials, and ensures timely follow-through on leadership matters, working with agency leaders and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Six years of experience in administrative services or equivalent combination.
• Bachelor's degree plus three years in administrative services.
• Advanced degree or a Juris Doctorate plus two years in administrative services.
• Experience substitution: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university counts as one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage detailed and complex analysis of issues affecting administrative programs in state legislation.
• Assist with policy implementation to achieve agency goals.
• Serve on research and project teams and coordinate with agency leadership.
• Provide analysis for decision-making and recommendations for corrective action and budget planning.
• Liaise with high-level officials in government and private sector for DPS/OMV programs.
• Conduct research using state and federal law, budgets, and policy statements.
• Coordinate procurement services, time administration, and facility maintenance with DPS OMF heads.
