Responsibilities:
- Ensure dispatch of finished & semi-finished & by-products goods as per customer schedules & requirements.
- Manage logistic operations within budget for KP plant.
- Handle coordination with plant team, planning, and sales for timely dispatches.
- Prepare invoices and EWay bills; oversee loading activities.
- Plan routes for all direct dispatches to customers.
- Ensure the best possible load factor and utilization of 95% above loadability of trucks.
- Experience in truck placement and coordination with transporters for timely vehicle placement.
- Identify and resolve any transporter-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Manage to obtain all insurance claim-related documents from transporters and submit them to the concerned department for timely processing.
- Coordinate with QC team/production for timely loading of trucks/tankers to ensure hassle-free dispatches.
- Plan, execute, and supply goods by road/rail/sea/coastal movement; explore multimodal transportation/new routes to save on freight costs.
- Conduct market research on local and national transport available in the plant area to optimize freight costs.
- Develop and implement various cost-saving initiatives such as direct dispatch increases without impacting service timelines and service levels.
- Screen potential transporters and evaluate them based on criteria.
- Knowledge of prevailing market freight rates and terms of payment is required.
- Manage a fleet size of 50 vehicles per day.
- Analyze transit damage and strategize to prevent it.
- Graduate/Postgraduate in supply chain management preferred.
- Proficient and knowledgeable in SAP/ERP and various types of MIS reports.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, MS Excel, and Outlook.
- Good communication skills in writing and verbally.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in logistics & fleet management required.
