Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field; some graduate coursework in business administration/management.
• Six+ years engineering experience in a specified program area including management and administrative experience.
• Valid Class C motor vehicle operator's license.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct and manage assigned engineering programs.
• Develop policies and procedures for the assigned program area within the Department of Public Works.
• Direct preparation of the bureau's annual capital and operating budgets and ensure staff training.
• Supervise preparation and maintenance of records and reports; manage personnel matters.
• Direct programs to ensure economical and efficient treatment and processing of drinking water, wastewater or sludge disposal.
• Oversee safety program and ensure a safe working environment for staff.
• Analyze operations and costs; prepare budget requests and recommend improvements.
• Direct the preparation of necessary records, reports and histories.
