Job summary

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey seeks a Deputy Director for Priority Capital Construction Programs within the TB&T Department. You will guide a large program portfolio, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and represent leadership when the Director is unavailable.

Lead senior teams, drive strategic planning, and align staff to operational, budget, safety, and customer service goals, fostering diversity and collaboration across the agency.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Public Administration, Transportation or related field preferred.
• 10–15 years in executive leadership, preferably in large public transportation operations.
• 7+ years at PA/NJ or comparable public transportation organization.
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
• 15+ years of operations, planning, security, project management in transportation.

Responsibilities

• Advance TB&T’s Priority Capital Construction Programs and coordinate with stakeholders to advance these projects.
• Represent the Director when out of office as needed.
• Oversee leaders within the Department managing the Priority Capital Construction Projects portfolio.
• Provide leadership on inter-departmental initiatives impacting operations, budgets, safety, and customer service.
• Support strategic planning, policy agenda, and performance measurement initiatives.
• Review organizational structure to ensure effective staff alignment with the mission.
• Collaborate with department leaders to ensure staff capability and motivation.
