Job summary

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey seeks a Deputy Port Director to lead the Port Department’s facilities, services, and capital program delivery. You will report to the Director and guide senior leadership to optimize port operations and ensure regulatory compliance, sustainability, and strong customer service.

The role requires extensive executive-level experience, a deep knowledge of the global supply chain, and proven negotiation and collaboration skills to drive cross-departmental

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business administration, Transportation, International Trade, Logistics, Engineering or a related field.
• A graduate degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Transportation, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 20 years of progressively responsible experience at an executive level capacity.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Director in all matters related to managing the Port Department, as needed.
• Oversee and provide direction to the Departmental leadership that manages and directs all aspects of facility operations, maintenance, regulatory compliance, and capital project delivery.
• Provide strategic guidance on revenue protection, new sources, and productivity improvements for port facilities.
• Oversee inter-departmental cooperation and consensus-building on roles, responsibilities and performance.
• Contribute to strategic planning, policy agenda, and business plans to increase revenue and reduce costs.
• Direct asset management programs including capital and operating projects and tenant support services.
• Ensure staff capability, availability, competence, and motivation while promoting diversity and inclusion.
