Job summary

UTHealth Houston seeks a Vice Chair of Clinical Operations in Neurology at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. The selected leader will guide the department’s clinical enterprise, balancing an active clinical practice with executive oversight of inpatient, ambulatory, and consult services across UT Physicians and affiliated partners.

The role emphasizes data-driven performance optimization, staffing excellence, and collaboration with Memorial Hermann Health System, Lyndon B.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or equivalent medical degree with board certification in neurology.
• Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited neurology residency and fellowship where applicable.
• Active board certification in neurology and eligibility for Texas medical license.

Responsibilities

• Direct the design, coordination, and improvement of inpatient, consultative, and ambulatory clinical services.
• Serve as liaison with Memorial Hermann and Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital and align strategic priorities with partners.
• Provide executive and operational leadership for hospital-based neurology services and ambulatory care across UT Physicians and affiliated sites.
• Develop coordinated staffing, scheduling, coverage, escalation, and handoff standards for service lines.
• Lead data-driven service innovation, new clinical programs, and redesigned care pathways.
