Job summary

UTHealth Houston’s Department of Neurology at McGovern Medical School invites applications for the Vice Chair of Clinical Operations at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. The role leads the integrated clinical enterprise with Memorial Hermann Health System and other partners, while maintaining a substantive clinical practice.

The successful candidate will direct inpatient, ambulatory, and hospital-based neurology services, build dashboards, and advance quality, access, and efficiency

Qualifications

• MD/DO or equivalent medical degree.
• Active board certification in neurology.
• Substantial leadership and hospital/clinic operations experience.
• Proven track record of improving clinical performance, access, quality, efficiency, growth, or financial outcomes.
• Ability to lead physicians and multidisciplinary teams across complex organizations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive clinical operations strategy aligned with the department's missions of patient care, education, research, and service.
• Establish a transparent performance-management system with defined goals and reliable data sources.
• Lead data-driven service innovation including new clinical programs and redesigned care pathways.
• Oversee recruitment and retention of outpatient and hospital-based neurologists for the integrated neurology service line.
• Mentor division chiefs, medical directors, and emerging physician leaders.
