Job summary

UTHealth Houston seeks a Senior Administrative Manager to lead the Neurosciences department's business, financial, and administrative operations. You will guide budgets, personnel processes, and staff, ensuring regulatory compliance and efficient workflows in a world-class academic healthcare setting.

The role requires strong business acumen, judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while fostering collaborative relationships and driving projects to completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business related field required; equivalent level of education and/or experience may substitute.
• Five years related work experience required; finance, accounting, business administration or management background preferred.
• Advanced working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; university financial systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily business and financial processes; monitor trends and forecast future financials.
• Oversee HR activities for direct reports and department staff including recruiting, hiring, training, and salary planning.
• Ensure compliance with fiscal, budgetary, personnel, and operational systems; approve department expenditures.
• Lead administrative staff and coordinate daily activities; prepare cost studies and management reports.
• Serve as liaison for internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth information flow.
• Oversee travel, purchasing, payroll, timekeeping, contracts and grants; monitor budget status.
• Train and supervise support staff; participate in interviewing and performance evaluations.
• Advise on financial and administrative policies; help develop business processes and policy documentation.
