Qualifications

  • Residency trained and board-certified in Emergency Medicine.
  • 10+ years of post-residency, full-time clinical practice in Emergency Medicine.
  • Academic rank of Associate Professor or Professor.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership and administrative experience in emergency medicine (e.g., Medical Director or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated business acumen and financial leadership experience; an MBA or equivalent degree is preferred.
  • Proven commitment to ongoing professional and personal leadership development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive oversight of clinical operations across all Department sites and ensure standards.
  • Drive strategy and establish clinical priorities with Department Chair and senior executives.
  • Manage clinical budgets, revenue cycle performance, and expenses.
  • Mentor and develop Emergency Department Medical Directors to standardize leadership across sites.
  • Collaborate with Medical Directors and hospital leadership to set clinical goals aligned with regulations and evidence-based practices.
  • Partner with Quality & Safety and Risk Management to support patient safety initiatives.
  • Lead workforce strategy including staffing models, recruitment, onboarding, and leadership succession planning.
  • Oversee professional services agreements and clinical contracts for current and expansion of services.
