Job summary

McDonald's is seeking a Senior Director of Consumer Data Engineering to lead vision, strategy, and execution of data engineering across the Consumer domain. This role builds scalable data platforms and products powering customer analytics, AI, and personalized experiences across global markets.

The leader will oversee Customer Data, Marketing Activation, and Clickstream Analytics, driving modernization, insourcing, governance, and certified semantic data layers for self-service analytics while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 15+ years in data engineering, software engineering, data platform development, or related tech.
• 8+ years leading large-scale engineering organizations, including managers/senior leaders.
• Experience in data strategies supporting customer analytics, marketing activation, AI, and business transformation.
• Deep expertise in modern data platforms, architecture, CDP, Customer 360, data warehousing, data lakes.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the data engineering strategy, roadmap, standards, and operating model for the Consumer data domain.
• Lead globally distributed data engineering leaders, managers, and engineers fostering innovation and accountability.
• Drive scalable data platforms and products powering customer analytics, AI, and self-service BI.
• Ensure data privacy, governance, and regulatory compliance across platforms and pipelines.
• Partner with Marketing, CX, Data Science, Platform Engineering, and enterprise leaders.
