Job summary

The Department of Insurance within the State of Illinois seeks a Chief Deputy Director of Product Lines to lead divisions including Innovation, Market Conduct, and Health Products. The role requires directing programs, supervising staff, and representing the Director in meetings.

Responsibilities include policy formulation, interdepartmental coordination, and relationship management with regulators and industry stakeholders. Located in Springfield, Illinois, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires four years of college with courses in insurance, accounting, business administration, and finance.
• Requires four years of progressively responsible administrative experience in the insurance industry.

Responsibilities

• Directs, coordinates and reviews activities of the Innovation, Market Conduct, Enforcement/Investigations, Property and Casualty Products, Life and Annuities Products, and Health Products Sections through subordinate staff.
• Serves as spokesperson representing the Director and Assistant Director at internal and external meetings.
• Plans, organizes, and implements major programs affecting Department and Division operations.
• Serves as full line supervisor.
• Serves as liaison with General Assembly members.
• Establishes and maintains relationships with officials of other departments, NAIC, consumer groups, trade organizations, and the insurance industry.
