Job description

Position Classification: Full Time

The Executive Kitchen Manager (EKM) is responsible for all culinary operations at Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux, providing leadership and direction to the Heart of House (HOH) team. The EKM must support a high-volume, creative, scratch kitchen through impeccable recipe and specification knowledge, culinary techniques, and experience. They should excel in a culinary-driven environment with the freshest ingredients, a clean kitchen, top-of-the-line equipment, and high operating standards. The EKM promotes a fun and welcoming work environment through positive reinforcement and teamwork, motivating, coaching, teaching, developing, and inspiring the HOH team to deliver memorable food to guests. Additionally, the EKM builds sales and maximizes financial success by controlling food and labor costs.

Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
  1. Ensure proper staffing levels by recruiting and interviewing talented kitchen staff following company guidelines.
  2. Manage the HOH team, including scheduling, performance feedback, and discipline.
  3. Oversee ongoing training and professional development of all HOH team members.
  4. Motivate the team daily to create a fun and successful work environment.
  5. Maintain the highest food quality standards from the back of the house to the guest's table.
  6. Communicate effectively with management and corporate teams to ensure smooth operations.
  7. Build trust with team members and management through clear and honest communication and feedback.
  8. Maintain all Walk-On's standards and hold the team accountable.
  9. Set operational goals and follow-up plans for the HOH team, including personal accountability for these goals.
  10. Implement and ensure adherence to all kitchen systems.
  11. Manage inventory procedures properly.
  12. Support and reinforce the highest food quality standards through Walk-On's systems and standards.
  13. Implement and adhere to Walk-On's / Ecosure safety and sanitation guidelines.
  14. Oversee the financial success of the HOH by managing food costs, inventory levels, minimizing waste, and controlling labor costs.
Skills / Qualifications:
  1. Minimum of 2 years management experience in a full-service, high-volume restaurant.
  2. Proven success in previous roles with upward career progression.
  3. Strong communication and leadership skills.
  4. Culinary school background is a plus.
