Job Description
The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for managing all aspects of the housekeeping department, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and service for guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas. This role is key in delivering an exceptional guest experience and maintaining operational efficiency and staff performance.
Responsibilities
- Supervise housekeeping and laundry staff, including counseling, performance evaluations, training, and development.
- Assist in developing and monitoring the annual budget.
- Establish and maintain cost control systems for staffing, linen inventories, and supplies.
- Ensure quality service to meet guest needs.
- Schedule staff according to labor standards and occupancy forecasts.
- Maintain room quality per company and hotel guidelines.
- Monitor cleanliness levels in rooms and common areas.
- Enforce procedures for guest lost and found items and security of equipment.
- Maintain productivity and labor cost goals.
- Conduct inventories and order supplies as needed.
- Report emergencies promptly to hotel management.
- Use office and accounting software accurately.
Support Skills
- Proficient in English for effective communication.
- Accurate reporting and office tasks assistance.
- Follow all policies and attend meetings.
Physical Requirements
- Minimum lifting of 20 pounds.
- Pushing, bending, reaching, manual dexterity.
- Hearing, writing, typing abilities.
- Minimum pulling of 20 pounds.
Additional Qualifications
- Knowledge of hotel departments and functions.
- Good mathematical and computer skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education preferred.
- Ability to obtain necessary licenses/certificates.
- CPR and first aid training preferred.
- Additional language skills are a plus.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Executive Housekeeper or similar role, preferably in a hotel or resort.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, storage, and equipment.
- Familiarity with hospitality management systems (e.g., Opera, HotSOS) is advantageous.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality management degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of supervisory housekeeping experience.
