Executive Housekeeper Job Description

The Executive Housekeeper works under the direction of the Assistant General Manager and/or General Manager. His or her responsibilities include daily duties, supervisory duties, training, checking guestrooms, guest service & satisfaction, & individual effectiveness.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assign rooms per housekeeper depending on availability, and assign any extra help for deep cleaning
• Verify washer and dryer equipment functioning properly
• Check VR rooms to ensure they are vacant, clean, and ready
• Check storage area to see if there are enough housekeeping supplies
• Get updated list of checkouts from front office; mark each housekeeper's sheet with the new checkouts & turn off all utilities in those rooms
• Check all clean rooms & update them in the computer; constantly check all clean rooms throughout the day
• Coordinate with the front desk to ensure all guests have checked out or paid for another night
• Handle lost & found items, report in log book, mark items with room number & date, contact guest if info is available, and mail items if requested
• Ensure all storage areas are locked & all housekeepers' sheets & the executive housekeeper sheet are turned in before leaving
• Assign work to maintenance employees
• Inspect hotel grounds
• Check maid carts for proper labeling and cleanliness
• Guide house personnel, laundry, or night laundry in stocking linens
• Complete performance reviews with senior management when due
• Train new housekeepers
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• At least 4 years of hotel experience in Housekeeping or in a large, multi-use facility
• Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements

• Standing for long periods to inspect guest rooms and public areas
• Sitting, walking, and standing during shift
• Light lifting for stocking supplies and materials
• Ability to supervise employees in duties
