Job summary

The Hoodoo Moab, part of Western States Lodging & Management, seeks an Executive Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping operation with hands-on leadership and a hospitality-first mindset.

You will oversee guest rooms, laundry, and public areas, ensuring spaces meet brand standards and guest expectations. You’ll train staff, manage schedules, inventory, and quality control while coordinating with Front Desk and Maintenance to deliver an exceptional guest experience.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading housekeeping or hospitality teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily operations of the housekeeping department, including guest rooms, laundry, and public spaces.
  • Ensure guestrooms and public areas are cleaned thoroughly and stocked with all required amenities according to current brand standards.
  • Promote positive guest relations by demonstrating hospitality and service standards.
  • Oversee laundry operations to ensure linens are properly cleaned and handled according to local health department standards.
  • Train housekeeping staff on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and department standards.
  • Create weekly housekeeping schedules based on occupancy, business demands, and operational needs.
  • Assign and organize guestrooms daily to ensure efficient housekeeping coverage.
  • Monitor housekeeping boards daily and verify room-cleaning information reflects occupancy status.
  • Inspect rooms and public areas to ensure they are maintained in excellent condition and report maintenance issues.
  • Coordinate with Front Desk to ensure room status information remains accurate.
  • Review completed rooms with Director of Rooms to support payroll processing.
  • Maintain accurate lost-and-found records and inventory; assist with returning guest belongings.
  • Monitor housekeeping supplies and maintain inventory levels for in-room and operational needs.
  • Order necessary supplies and maintain inventory controls.
  • Complete quarterly linen inventories and monitor usage.
  • Maintain MSDS information and keep it current for reference.
  • Communicate effectively with guests, vendors, associates, and other hotel departments.
  • Support management with reasonable requests within scope of the position.

The Hoodoo Moab is seeking a hands-on, organized, and hospitality-focused Executive Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping operation and ensure every guest room and public space meets the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and service. This role oversees guest rooms, laundry, and public areas, while leading and supporting the housekeeping team to deliver a consistently exceptional guest experience. Our Executive Housekeeper will play an important role in daily hotel operations by managing staffing, room assignments, inventory, training, quality control, and coordination with Front Desk and Maintenance. What You'll Do
  • Lead the daily operations of the housekeeping department, including guest rooms, laundry, and public spaces.
  • Ensure guestrooms and public areas are cleaned thoroughly and stocked with all required amenities according to current brand standards.

  • Monitor housekeeping boards daily and verify that room-cleaning information accurately reflects occupied and available rooms.
  • Inspect rooms and public areas to ensure they are maintained in excellent condition and communicate maintenance issues or deficiencies through work orders.
  • Coordinate with the Front Desk to ensure room status information remains accurate and up to date.
  • Review completed rooms with the Director of Rooms to support accurate payroll processing.
  • Maintain accurate lost-and-found records and inventory while making every effort to facilitate the return of guest belongings.
  • Monitor housekeeping supplies and maintain appropriate inventory levels for in-room and operational needs.
  • Order necessary housekeeping and operational supplies while maintaining appropriate inventory controls.
  • Complete quarterly linen inventories and monitor linen usage.
  • Maintain the department's MSDS information and ensure it is current and readily available for reference.
  • Communicate effectively with guests, vendors, associates, and other hotel departments.
  • Support management with reasonable requests and responsibilities within the scope of the position.
What We're Looking For
  • Previous housekeeping, hotel operations, or hospitality leadership experience preferred.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and quality.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with guests and coworkers.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to follow cleaning procedures, safety requirements, and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to lift and carry required items and supplies up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, and reach overhead as needed.
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to work around cleaning chemicals and follow appropriate safety procedures.
