Placements24 is seeking a Head of Sports Development to lead provincial initiatives in the Eastern Cape, based in East London. The role drives strategic plans, talent pipelines, and partnerships to expand access to sport and healthy lifestyles.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in sports development, strong governance knowledge, and proven leadership in large regional programs. Travel across the province is required; competitive executive compensation is offered.

Qualifications

Master's degree in a relevant field is required.
10+ years in sports development, program management, or a senior leadership role.
Proven track record in strategic planning, stakeholder management, and partnerships.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute a strategic plan for sports development across the Eastern Cape.
Expand sports programs and facilities in underserved communities.
Build relationships with government, NGOs, schools, and sports bodies.
Oversee talent identification and athlete development pathways.
Manage budgets and ensure financial accountability for projects.
Lead and mentor regional sports development officers and coordinators.
Organize provincial events, competitions, and development camps.
Secure funding through grants, sponsorships, and partnerships.
Monitor impact and report on KPIs; advocate for sports development in East London and Eastern Cape.
