Job summary

The Woodlands Course at Whittaker in New Buffalo, MI is seeking a General Manager to lead operations, finance, and member services. This role reports to Ownership and guides all department heads to deliver exceptional hospitality and operational excellence.

The GM will drive strategic planning, governance, and financial stewardship while maintaining a guest-focused culture aligned with the club’s traditions and values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business administration, or related field preferred.
• 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in private clubs, hospitality, resort, or high-end service organizations.
• CCM designation preferred or willingness to pursue certification.
• Strong financial management, budgeting, and operational experience.
• Proven leadership, team building, and staff development skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for all course operations across departments.
• Ensure exceptional guest experiences and maintain hospitality standards.
• Lead department heads and drive governance, policy, and strategic initiatives.
• Develop and manage operating and capital budgets.
• Oversee capital projects, facilities, and maintenance planning.
• Foster staff development and a positive workplace culture.
• Collaborate with Ownership and Boards on strategy and reporting.
• Support marketing and member engagement initiatives.
