Job summary

Alstom in California seeks a General Manager (GM) to direct and oversee performance under the Agreement. The GM acts as the on-site senior leader, interfacing with the Authority and ensuring safe, reliable, on-time delivery of contracted railroad operations, maintenance, and support services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Business Administration, Engineering, Construction, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Significant leadership experience in railroad operations or maintenance, preferably in complex environments.
• Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, and labor relations in a regulated setting.
• Strong understanding of FRA/CPUC or similar regulatory frameworks and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate performance under the Agreement, ensuring safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
• Make day-to-day operational decisions with autonomy over subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
• Provide executive leadership across train operations, maintenance, safety, and contract administration.
• Develop succession plans and coach leaders to assume broader responsibilities.
• Communicate progress, risks, and contractual matters to Authority and stakeholders.
