Job summary

Stanfordville Machine & Manufacturing Company, founded in 1975, is seeking a General Manager to lead the plant’s P&L, drive EBITDA, and align sales goals with operations. You will oversee safety, manufacturing, engineering, quality, procurement, scheduling, and customer service in a tooling/injection molding environment.

The role requires a BS in engineering or related field, 10+ years in manufacturing leadership, CNC experience, and a strong lean/ERP track record.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering or related field; MBA a plus for business acumen.
• Lean, Six Sigma, APICS, CQE, or CI credentials are an added plus.
• 10+ years leading manufacturing operations, ideally tooling and injection molding.
• CNC machining experience is required; low-volume, high-mix environment experience preferred.
• Ability to develop KPIs, implement ERP and QMS, and drive cost-effective growth.

Founded in 1975. With steady growth for over 3 decades, have become a leading supplier of mechanical parts and assemblies in the semiconductor, medical, aerospace, computer, electronics, instrument, and packaging industries. Our primary service is CNC machining of aluminum, steel, stainless steel, brass, copper & plastic parts. We are cost competitive on prototype through production quantities. Other services we offer include prototype machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, assembly and mechanical design. 26 CNC Machines and 2 shifts allow us to deliver on short lead times.

JOB SUMMARY:

The General Manager will report to the CEO and will be responsible for managing the P&L with responsibility for meeting and exceeding annual performance targets, accommodating growth targets, and providing leadership to the management team. He/she will have an entrepreneurial spirit, a strong background in tooling and injection molding production, experience in a job shop/contract manufacturing environment, solid business and financial acumen, and the ability to execute an operations strategy for the business. The GM will have a strong alignment with the sales team and be intimate in setting sales goals and pricing targets with the CEO/Sales Director

The General Manager will be responsible for the operational performance of the business which includes meeting and improving EBITDA targets through process improvement, labor and asset utilization, equipment uptime, and launch and changeover efficiency. He/she will ensure that people, culture, processes, and systems all support execution.

Core Responsibilities

The General Manager is expected to:

• Directs all aspects of the plant’s business operations, including health and safety, manufacturing, engineering, quality assurance, purchasing, scheduling, warehousing, shipping/receiving, maintenance, and customer service.
• Lead operations/hit KPIs - revenue growth, profitability, operations & production, quality, plant production development, machine efficiencies, material yields, labor and overhead costs versus budget, health & safety, finance, and compliance. Responsible for the margin generation on the cost side.
• Ensure all company policies, including safety, production, quality, human resources, customer service, and accounting policies are adopted across the operation.
• Ensure that quality standards are understood and meet acceptable limits in the manufacturing and distribution process. Assures that policies and documentation are current, and facility is compliant with customer audit requirements.
• Assist in the execution of operational initiatives such as lean production processes, production cost reduction, supply chain, procurement, capacity optimization/expansion, and acquisition synergy/integration.
• Implement an ERP system in conjunction with other divisions.
• Prepare an annual manufacturing plan and policy guidelines to drive the performance of key results on production activities and continuous implementation monitoring.
• Identify and act on continuous improvement opportunities - lead and monitor all progress in capturing opportunities in quality, productivity, and operating expenses.
• Provide information to various corporate personnel on time, including daily/weekly/monthly reporting requirements and other ad hoc information requests.
• Drives standardization practices throughout the organization that align with other branches.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

• A BS in engineering, operations, supply chain management, or business desired. A technical background in engineering would be helpful and an MBA a plus. Additional credentials, such as Lean, Six Sigma, APICS, CQE, or CI would be an added plus.

Years of Experience

• 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing operations leadership position, preferably currently having the same role in a manufacturing company involving tooling and injection molding.

Industry Experience

• CNC machining experience is a must
• Experience managing operations in a low-volume high-mix product/parts manufacturing environment.
• Development and implementation of new operational processes and procedures; ability to culturally change long-standing policies.
• Deep understanding and implementation of LEAN.
• Ability to develop and report management KPIs.
• Implementation of ERP and QMS systems.
• Oversee plant operations to ensure business efficiency, productivity, and cost-effective management of resources.
• Analyze operations of the plant to determine areas in need of cost reduction and program improvement or policy change.
• Partner with the CEO to set short- and long-term goals for the company to promote profitability, stability, and growth.
