Job summary

Interlake Steamship Company seeks a Chief Steward to supervise galley operations aboard its vessels, plan menus, order food, and prepare three meals daily, with night meals as needed. The role includes monitoring food costs and providing light hotel services onboard, including linen and towels.

You will supervise a 2nd cook and coordinate closely with hotel services to maintain crew and passenger comfort on voyages.

Qualifications

• TWIC Card required
• Merchant Mariners Credential issued by the US Coast Guard required
• Current USCG physical examination required
• Legally eligible to be employed in the United States (proof required upon employment)

Responsibilities

• The Chief Steward is the manager of all galley operations.
• Supervise and work directly with a 2nd cook to assist in galley operations.
• Monitor food costs and conduct light hotel services such as linen and towels onboard.
