Job summary

Susquehanna University seeks an Executive Functioning Skills Coach to provide in-person coaching to students facing organizational and time-management challenges. The role collaborates with Student Support Services to reinforce executive functioning strategies within academic coaching and advising practices.

The position supports a varied schedule, including some evenings, and reports to the Senior Director of Student Support and Development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in education, psychology, counseling, social work, student affairs, special education, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
• Experience providing academic coaching, executive functioning support, learning support, student success coaching, disability support, counseling, or related services is preferred.
• Knowledge of executive functioning skills and strategies related to organization, planning, time management, prioritization, task initiation, and academic self-management.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, in-person executive functioning coaching to students.
• Assist students with organization, planning, prioritization, time management, task initiation, study routines, and follow-through.
• Help students develop individualized strategies, systems, and action plans to support academic progress.
• Support students in breaking larger assignments and responsibilities into manageable steps.
• Reinforce accountability, self-advocacy, problem-solving, and independent skill development.
• Maintain appropriate documentation and notes related to student meetings and progress.
• Communicate with designated Student Support Services staff regarding student progress, concerns, and recommended next steps, while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
• Participate in case consultation and coordination with program staff as needed.
• Participate in training and consultation with the program's Executive Functioning Skills Trainer to ensure consistency in coaching approaches and strategies.
• Assist with executive functioning workshops or small-group programming as requested.
• Refer students back to appropriate university resources when needs extend beyond the scope of executive functioning coaching.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
