Job summary

Deloitte Insights in the United States seeks an executive editor to lead content development and quality across Deloitte's publishing imprint for business research and insights. This strategic, hands‑on editor coaches editors and works with researchers, data visualization, designers, and production specialists to deliver clear, rigorous, and engaging storytelling that serves executive audiences.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in business journalism editing or business insights editing
• Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, or communications
• Exceptional editing skills with mastery of AP style and the ability to explain edits to authors
• Excellent writing and oral communication skills; ability to translate complex concepts for executives
• Attention to detail and big-picture thinking
• Outside-in orientation toward audience needs across projects
• Versatile writing/editing from web copy to long-form reports
• Extensive leadership and management experience
• Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and editors

Responsibilities

• Own content quality standards across Deloitte Insights content
• Train and manage editors to apply quality standards
• Champion audience needs and ensure engaging storytelling
• Lead development and management of copyediting quality
• Guide editors on collaboration with authors
• Improve editorial systems and workflows, incl. AI tools
• Promote responsible AI use in content creation
• Advise authors on language, style, and storytelling
• Lead editorial programs like the video agenda
• Stay updated on storytelling trends and multichannel publishing
