Job summary

Deloitte Insights in the United States seeks an Executive Editor to lead content development, quality, and storytelling across digital formats. You will coach editors, collaborate with researchers and designers, and ensure accuracy and value for senior executives.

The role requires deep journalism experience, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to drive editorial standards, processes, and responsible use of AI in a global publishing environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in business journalism editing or thought leadership editing
• Bachelor's degree (English literature, journalism, communications or similar)
• Exceptional editing skills and mastery of AP style
• Excellent writing and oral communication; translate complex concepts for executives
• Attention to detail and big-picture thinking
• Outside‑in orientation toward audience needs
• Versatile writing, editing, and storytelling across formats
• Extensive team leadership and performance management experience
• Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
• Ability to advise senior stakeholders and editors diplomatically
• Experience creating multimedia content and guidance for video projects
• Proficiency with Word, CMS, Excel, PowerPoint; familiarity with collaboration tools
• Project management and ability to handle multiple projects
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Willingness to travel 0–15% on average
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Own content quality standards for Deloitte Insights materials
• Train and performance-manage editors across publishing projects
• Champion audience needs and ensure clarity and engagement
• Lead development of copyediting, fact-checking, and terminology accuracy
• Guide editors on collaboration with authors as trusted advisors
• Improve editorial systems, workflows, and adoption of new tech/AI where appropriate
• Promote responsible AI use and maintain human-led editorial decisions
• Coach authors and stakeholders on language, style, and storytelling
• Lead publishing programs and quality standards for Deloitte Insights videos
• Stay current on storytelling trends and multichannel publishing innovations
