The Role

As an Executive Director, you will work closely with our association clients, interfacing with officers, board and committee members directly. You will use excellent communication, project management and consensus-building skills to help our clients grow and flourish.

Key Responsibilities

  • Account Management: Act as the point person for the leadership of several association clients. Attend board and committee meetings and ensure a clear line of communication between your associations and internal ADS departments. Cultivate strong relationships with association leaders, industry influencers and key stakeholders to drive impact.
  • Project Management: Work with internal team members including colleagues in events, marketing, sales, operations and finance to ensure top-notch service to each of your assigned groups. Utilize resources, software and reports to plan, monitor and analyze client initiatives.
  • Innovative Growth: Identify opportunities for innovation, new product development, expansion and partnerships for your assigned association clients
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee financial health, team performance, and day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency and growth.
  • Advocacy & Thought Leadership: Collaborate advocacy efforts and maintain a strong relationship with lobbyists, when applicable. Maintain knowledge of current trends, opportunities and threats in relevant industries.

What We’re Looking For

Proven Leadership: 5+ years of experience in association management. CAE designation or willingness to obtain CAE in the next 1-2 years preferred.

Strategic Vision: A track record of building and executing innovative engagement strategies that drive measurable results.

Relationship Builder: Strong networking skills and the ability to cultivate long-term partnerships.

Innovator’s Mindset: Passion for leveraging digital tools, analytics, and storytelling to expand reach.

Excellent Communicator: Outstanding public speaking, writing, and presentation skills.

Results-Driven: Ability to translate strategy into action, ensuring client success and organizational growth.
