Brewer Science, Inc. is a major innovator of high-technology solutions for the semiconductor / microelectronics markets. We are currently seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as an Executive Director, New Business. This position will be located remotely.
Summary:
The Executive Director, New Business will lead the development and execution of strategies to identify, evaluate, and capture new business opportunities within and beyond the semiconductor industry. This senior role will focus on fostering strategic partnerships, identifying emerging market trends, and expanding the company’s customer base by using a deep understanding of the semiconductor and wider market supply chain, technical expertise in chemical manufacturing processes, and a proven track record of growing businesses in highly technical and competitive environments.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a core member of the Executive Director team.
- Lead the creation and execution of business development strategies to identify new markets, new customer segments, and new revenue streams in the semiconductor industry.
- Conduct comprehensive market research to identify key industry trends, customer needs, competitive landscape, and growth opportunities.
- Cultivate strategic partnerships with key players in the semiconductor ecosystem, including OEMs, fabs, design houses, and suppliers, to expand market reach and drive collaborative growth.
- Collaborate with the R&D and product management teams to align new business efforts with the company’s innovation pipeline and ensure that customer needs are addressed with innovative chemical solutions.
- Directly manage and drive sales efforts for new business, including lead generation, deal negotiation, and closing.
- Develop business case models, pricing strategies, and sales forecasts for new opportunities to ensure profitable growth and return on investment.
- Establish KPIs for business development and track performance to meet or exceed targets. Report regularly to executive leadership on the status of new business efforts.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, providing high-level support and consultation to address customer challenges and opportunities.
- Understand customer technical and operational requirements and work with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions that meet their needs and drive business growth.
- Work closely with marketing, product development, operations, and finance teams to align business strategies, ensure smooth execution, and deliver exceptional value to customers.
- Provide company leadership, along with the other executive directors, in the planning, development, and execution of organizational strategy globally, and help to set a clear direction for the company.
- Develop and implement the company’s short-term and long-term business plan, along with the other Executive Directors and Corporate Leadership Team, to accomplish key corporate objectives.
- Formulate and administer policies and procedures that have a company-wide impact and/or significant impact on company performance.
- Forecast and submit budget requirements and monitor and report on financial performance against budget.
- Manage employee success by setting clear expectations, providing continuous feedback, supporting professional development, and creating an environment of psychological safety and intentional inclusion.
- Direct, supervise, and coordinate employees and facilities to accomplish the functions and goals of the business unit; plan the use of materials and resources for efficient accomplishment of business unit functions.
- Act as a “connector leader” to ensure the organization’s strategies are connected and not conflicting; this includes the cross-functional coordination of company priorities and strategic alignment of resources, including talent.
- Collaborate with other Leadership Team members to position the organization as a global market leader. Analyze competitive opportunities and threats, along with the organization’s strengths and weaknesses, and determine effective strategies for competitive positioning.
Education & Credentials:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or related field and
- 12+ years of increased responsibilities in business development or sales in chemical manufacturing, semiconductor, or materials science and
- 10+ years progressive leadership experience or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education & Credentials:
- MBA or master's degree in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or related field.
- PhD in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or related field.
Compensation:
Base pay for this role is between $192,500 and $250,500 annually. Base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
