Job summary

Smithbucklin seeks an Executive Director to lead the Bank Insurance & Securities Association (BISA). This senior role reports to the Executive Committee and Board, serving as a strategic partner and industry ambassador.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of executive-level management experience including strategy, operations, and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience leading strategic transformation, governance modernization, or organizational performance initiatives.
• Active leadership in a volunteer-governed association or similar member-based enterprise.

Responsibilities

• Lead BISA’s strategic transformation and report to Executive Committee, Board, and Smithbucklin resources.
• Translate priorities into operating plans, milestones, ownership, and measurable outcomes with Board reporting.
• Develop KPIs, scorecards, and dashboards to measure progress, member value, and financial health.
• Advise governance bodies on bylaws, board structure, and succession planning.
• Build a culture of accountable volunteer leadership and effective recruitment and communication.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration to deliver an integrated member experience.
