Job summary

Novartis seeks an ED, US Business Strategy Lead based in East Hanover, NJ, reporting to the VP, Head of US Strategy & Execution. This senior role will own the US commercial enterprise strategy, align function-level plans, and drive annual/quarterly strategic planning with cross-functional leaders.

The role leads a team of Strategy Engagement Leads and Analysts, delivering market and competitive insights and preparing LT decision options. Requires extensive pharma/healthcare strategy experience.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in corporate or commercial strategy, pharma/healthcare strategy, market access, or enterprise transformation.
• Ability to synthesize ambiguous market, customer, and financial data into clear strategic options.
• Experience presenting to senior leadership and translating strategy into execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead US Commercial strategic agenda and enterprise narrative aligned to portfolio priorities and performance.
• Frame strategic options for US LT decisions using external benchmarks and financial implications.
• Coordinate functional strategy alignment across therapeutic areas, platforms, and enabling functions.
• Lead or sponsor high-impact enterprise strategy projects requiring problem framing and recommendations.
• Build strategy toolkit and capability across team of Strategy Engagement Leads and Analysts.
• Convey strategic choices into governed portfolio priorities with governance partners.
• Mentor team members and raise the quality bar for strategy work.
