Safe Haven of Greater Waterbury seeks an experienced Executive Director to lead the organization and advance its mission of providing safety, support, advocacy, and healing to victims of domestic and sexual violence.

The role requires balancing long-term strategy with day-to-day management, ensuring trauma-informed, survivor-centered, and confidential services, while guiding governance, program quality, and fundraising efforts.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated senior-level leadership and management experience in nonprofits or related fields.
  • Experience leading complex organizations with multiple programs and funding sources.
  • Strong fiscal management, budgeting, forecasting, and accountability for resources.
  • Proven experience with grants, contracts, and diversified revenue development.
  • Experience supervising and developing organizational leaders.
  • Excellent written, verbal, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.

Responsabilités

  • Provide executive leadership and align operations with board directives and strategic plan.
  • Oversee financial management, budgeting, reporting, and fiscal integrity.
  • Lead grants, contracts, and fundraising strategies with staff and board.
  • Ensure program quality, regulatory compliance, and survivor-centered, trauma-informed services.
  • Represent Safe Haven in community and with partners; build stakeholder relationships.
  • Oversee facilities, risk management, and information security; protect client confidentiality.
