Job summary

Merck in the United States seeks a Distinguished Scientist, Translational Clinical Biomarkers to lead one of our Biomarker Centers of Excellence in oncology. You will supervise PhD-/MD-level scientists and shape end-to-end biomarker strategy from pre-FIH to Phase 3 and beyond.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in clinical trial development and execution.
• Proven leadership in cross-functional, matrixed teams.
• Strong track record in biomarker discovery and translational research.
• Deep cancer biology and cancer immunology knowledge.
• Experience with regulatory interactions and health authorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead biomarker strategy for multiple oncology platforms.
• Supervise PhD-/MD-level scientists within the Biomarker Center.
• Develop and oversee end-to-end biomarker programs, from pre-FIH to late-stage.
• Collaborate with clinical development, informatics, and diagnostics teams.
• Publish translational research and engage external KOLs.
• Interface with labs to implement preclinical/translational projects.
• Contribute to Health Authority engagements and post-marketing commitments.
