Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions in Durham, NC, is seeking an Executive Director, Systems Software Development to lead the strategy, development, delivery, quality, and lifecycle support of the systems software powering Toshiba's global retail hardware platforms.

This role directs a global, multi-level engineering organization responsible for Linux, Android, Open Systems drivers, diagnostics, SDKs, system images, and preloads, with a focus on AI-enabled engineering, automation, CI/CD, and

Qualifications

• 15+ years in software, systems software, embedded software, or related product development.
• 10+ years in technical and organizational leadership with increasing responsibility.
• 5+ years in an executive or senior executive engineering leadership role overseeing managers and senior leaders.
• Experience leading geographically distributed engineering teams and complex development programs.
• Proven track record delivering commercial software through full development lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of OS concepts, drivers, diagnostics, SDKs, and system-level software.

Responsibilities

• Lead a global, multi-level engineering organization responsible for Linux, SKY, and Android OS solutions, drivers, diagnostics, SDKs, and system images.
• Establish strategy and roadmaps; align hardware and software architectures; drive AI-enabled engineering and automation.
• Oversee lifecycle releases, customer deployments, and lifecycle support with emphasis on quality and productivity.
• Drive AI adoption, CI/CD, DevOps, and secure development practices across the software lifecycle.
