Job summary

Department of Public Safety Standards and Training in Salem, Oregon seeks an Executive Standards Division Director to oversee statewide certification, licensure, compliance, and regulatory programs. You will set strategy, ensure fairness and transparency, and manage enterprise-level initiatives.

As a member of the Leadership Team, you will guide managers and cross-functional teams, align resources, advise on legal risk and workforce planning, and act as a key public-safety liaison.

Qualifications

• Seven years of supervision or management experience, or four years plus a Bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

• Direct the Professional Standards Division and oversee statewide certification, licensure, compliance, and regulatory programs.
• Translate statutes into effective programs and policy; ensure fairness, transparency, and sound judgment.
• Lead managers and multidisciplinary teams; align fiscal and operational resources with agency priorities.
• Advise executive leadership on legal risk, workforce strategy, and organizational performance.
• Represent the agency with public safety partners, boards, and stakeholders; oversee decertification and rulemaking.
