Job summary

Outside In, a Portland-based nonprofit serving youth experiencing homelessness and marginalized communities, seeks an Executive Director to lead strategic renewal, strengthen financial sustainability, and advance its social justice mission.

Reporting to the Board, the ED will oversee operations, fundraising, partnerships, and organizational culture across multiple sites, guiding a team of ~200 staff and volunteers to expand impact and ensure sustainable service delivery.

Qualifications

• Senior-level leadership experience in complex organizations.
• Experience shaping organizational strategy and governance.
• Strong understanding of healthcare delivery and community services.
• DEIB initiatives and inclusive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Board to set strategic vision and long-term sustainability.
• Oversee financial strategy, budgeting, regulatory compliance, and operations.
• Evaluate programs and funding models to improve efficiency and impact.
• Lead organizational change with transparency and accountability.
• Develop a high-performing leadership team and strong stakeholder relations.
• Advise the Board on governance, risk, and communications.
• Cultivate donor relations and strategic partnerships to grow resources.
